Teagan Greer. Long-time deviant, new start. I like writing nonsense and coming up with ridiculous stories to drop my cast of [characters: astronauts, pirates, scientists, vampires, etcetera] into. I also take photos and read old books and study about the inner workings of equines. I have two horses, three dogs, and love them dearly. I am part of a multiple personality non-disordered system thing, and I talk about it a lot. Asking questions is allowed. Being a fucktwit isn't.

That's right. I began my 50k in 30 Days challenge on October 24th, which meant it ends on November 22nd, and a little less than two hours ago I crossed the 50k line. Guess what my 49,999th and 50,000th words are? "Holy" and "shit." I thought it was appropriate.

Last year was my first attempt at NaNoWriMo. I wrote about 7k words on a historical fiction and then switched to a fantasy-western and ended with just over 37,000, counting the historical fiction. As November approached this year and I was fighting an undiagnosed digestive problem (as a side note, I still am, and all that has been determined is that the problem is most likely neurological because all of my GI tests have come back fine) that was leaving me tired and cranky, not getting anything done, my self-confidence was at an all time low. My mother, who like the rest of my family has been an awesome cheerleader, suggested I start writing early so that I could be done before we travel to visit family for Thanksgiving. As it turns out, I think I may have been able to reach 50k completely in November, but I can't no for sure. Anyway, having this win (even if I did "cheat") under my belt should boost my confidence for next year and I have learned a lot about myself as a writer that will help me on my way.

I will keep writing, hopefully wrap up this story within the next week. There is a lot of revision to be done but that can wait for January. I really do plan on posting this, but now that NaNo is over my perfectionism will probably kick back in, which means don't expect to see the story publicly for several months.

To everyone participating in NaNoWriMo, good luck! You are all awesome for attempting this even if you don't technically win.

- Teagan

P.S. I'm sorry if anything doesn't make sense, I'm exhausted. Also, I would still appreciate feedback on this journal: [link]
